Where I’ve been

We spent our anniversary in Las Vegas, where we did lots of eating, sight seeing and sleeping.

Then spent an amazing 5 days in Washington DC, with some of my amazing family. Doing a lot of sight seeing, eating, and catching up on each others lives.

Now we’re home, in beautiful Colorado, getting caught up with work, laundry and of course blogging.

Hope you all had a fantastic Turkey Day!!!

What I’m Loving on a Snowy Day

Today we woke up to this sight:

Frost on the windowSnow on the side deckStreet View B&W

There is over a foot of snow everywhere, and it’s still coming down. I get to stay home with my hot tea and work, but the hubs had to venture out in the mini blizzard to get to work. It took him a good 30 minutes to clean off the Cavalier and get it warm enough to start melting the sheet of ice on it.

I wanted to share a few of the things I love on this snowy Wednesday, and what better way to do it then linking up with the beautiful Jamie and What I’m Loving Wednesday.

I am loving the new tires on our Camaro, makes it a lot easier to drive around in the snow, instead of getting stuck.

We will hopefully never see the sight above. Poor car stuck in the snow and unable to get into the garage. The new tires are actually made to grip the snow and get us going.

I’m also loving the new ZL1 Camaros and kind of wanting one.

Isn’t it beautiful?! Completely unpractical, but drool-worthy!

I am loving the floorplan of our to be house

I am not loving that we still don’t have a move date, and that we may have to build the house from ground up rather then walk into the already built, ready to move in house we saw on our trip to Tucson.

I am loving the fact that we’ll be getting our wedding photos done, finally!!! After two years of marriage we’ll have beautiful, professional photos done by my good friend Lena Karabushin. She was the mastermind behind our engagement shots.

I’m loving that by tomorrow evening, these dresses will be delivered to me.

And loving the fact that in just 8 days we’ll be heading out on a little road trip to Texas.

I’m especially loving my 50mm f1.4 lens. It is AHmazing and worth every little penny.

And as always I’m loving this man:

A Delayed Weekend Recap

My weekend involved a lot of this:

I spent a good 24 hours reading, which was the majority of my Friday and Saturday. And this is what I read:

I had already finished the first book, and spent my weekend finishing Catching Fire and Mockingjay. The books are fantastic, and while I found a few typos here and there, I couldn’t put them down. The Husband was not too happy with me because my emersion into these books cause at least one batch of burnt pastries and pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner for a day.

Since I finished the books on Saturday, Sunday was a rest day we ended up turning it into an elaborate date.

Including some of this:

And some of these topped with the first home win of the season.

Our awesome goalie saved 30 our of 32 shots on goal. Varlamov is a fantastic young player who shows a lot of promise of becoming one of the greats and will hopefully one day stand next goaltenders such as Partick Roy.

The game winning goal, scored by Matt Duchene. This kid is a month older then my younger brother.

Overall, we had an excellent weekend that has led to what is already a busy busy week. I should be getting my dress for the wedding in this week. I also need to make a run to Shane to drop off my rings, get the car maintained, pay bills, get Hub’s suite dry cleaned. Work. Pack and decide on where we will be on what days of our 2.5 week vacation.

Keep an eye out for our vacation plans coming sometime tonight or tomorrow morning.

It really is Okay

Today, I’m linking up with Amber and Neely.

Its Ok Thursdays

It’s Okay

… to buy cute shoes even though you don’t really have anywhere to wear them to

… to try and figure out a way to wear a pair of shoes that are half a size too big, just because you are too lazy to take them to the store and exchange them for the right size

… to plan and go on a vacation, when you should really be saving up your money to buy a house

… to want to desperately go on a trip for our anniversary, but admit that we shouldn’t spend the money

… to want to get the whole house and moving nightmare over with, and to take the hub’s employer for not giving us a date as to when we can move

… to want to sit around and read blogs all day

… to hate Facebook, and contemplate deleting it

… to read a book in one day

… to miss having long hair that you could just throw up in a bun, then realize you hated throwing your hair up in a bun

… to then go through pictures of beautiful short hair and realize how much easier it is to fix then long hair

… to feel angry at an unfair grade, when the grade isn’t even for myself

… to love grad school, because you ended up with one of the coolest professors who understands that life goes on outside of school

… to want to win the lottery so that you can stop stressing over money issues

… to be disgusted with yourself for not getting off your butt and heading to the gym.

… and to be proud of getting your butt off the couch and working out

It’s Wednesday Love

It’s been a while since I’ve joined in and done What I’m Loving Wednesday with Jamie, so here I am today.

I’m loving that it’s dusting snow outside, the beautiful grey skies and the fact that I can work from home on this beautiful wintery day. I’m also loving that we are officially in the “almost winter” season here in CO. You know they say that our seasons consist of almost winter, winter, still winter and construction. I personally love this, because there is nothing better then a cold day where you can huddle under a blanket with a hot cup of tea.

Snow from the loft

I’m loving that in  15 days we get to go on a 2.5 week long vacation. It will consist of a wedding, a road trip. A little time in New York or Boston for our anniversary, and Thanksgiving week in DC with one of my favorite cousins and his family.

First stop in Lubbock for the wedding

Next a drive to Tucson, to make sure we actually like the house, and the area.

We’re still deciding on New York or Boston for our anniversary

Then to DC for some family time

I’m loving that I narrowed down a dress choice to two, and I think one will be for the wedding and the other for our anniversary.

Now to only figure out which one to wear to which event.

I’m loving these shoes that should be arriving at my doorstep any minute now.

I’m also loving that between discounts, rewards and online offers, I was able to get all three of these for about a $150.00 total. I’m thinking I win.

I’m loving the Hunger Games… I know I’m a little late to the party with this one. BUT I read the first book in a day, and cannot wait until the hardcover set arrives at my door so I can read the next two.

And as always, I’m loving my amazing and wonderful Hubs.
