Are you up for it?

So we’re all moved into our house. We have blinds… so we’re no longer living in a fish bowl. Our backyard is slowly but surely turning into a yard. Some of the walls have paint on them. We’re still lacking living room furniture, dining room furniture, bedroom furniture and overall any kind of furniture. Smile We do have a sleeper sofa in the guest bedroom and some barstools around the kitchen island. OH and a mattress on the floor that we sleep on.

Currently Lilly has more “furniture” then we do, as she’s got two dog beds and has claimed the sleeper sofa as hers.

Last Wednesday, my camera decided to quit on me. It was a sad day in this household, as I had just come back from a photoshoot… and half the pictures were fuzzy due to some kind of a loose connection. Long story short, I am now the proud owner of a 5D Mark II. The camera I have been drooling over for over a year. My husband dearest decided that I deserved it since I’m actually making money with it.

ALLL of this being said… we are no on a very tight budget. AND by tight budget I mean tiny because we need to pay things off and get our finances back in order.

We ignored the memo that home ownership comes with lots of expenses… like $2000 for window covers and $2500 for landscape supplies (or 10K if you want someone to actually do the heavy lifting for you). OHHH and the fact that hubs and I cannot settle for anything less then perfect (which usually correlates with super expensive) does not help matters. AT ALL.

SOOO… I am teaming up with one of my best blog gals to bring around a little challenge!

Here’s the idea:

  • There is a ton of stuff we buy every month that we can live without.
  • Things like Starbucks, a new skirt, eating out, fast food, and so on can all be cut out.
  • For 30 days, instead of buying things you can live without (yes you can live without that maxi dress)… you put that money aside towards a goal.
  • The goals can be anything from paying off a credit card, going on a nice shopping trip, savings for a vacation, whatever

Tomorrow Janna and I will both post a more detailed account as well as the link up information.

Hope you all are having a great Thursday!!!!
