CBCLs, Tutoring and packing

I hate oversleeping...
and by oversleeping I mean turning off my alarm and snuggling into bed
only to realize that I have to be at work in a matter of 40 minutes and it takes me 30 to get there.
That's how my morning started today.
Boo!

I really felt like this guy!!!

_____

I spent the day re-entering data into the computer, because some idiot decided to give out the wrong measures to the patients...
So now we have to re-enter,
then convert...
It really is kind of a pain.

_______

After Children's I spent came home and had leftovers,
and ran out the door to tutor...

I tutored for 4 to 7...
It was a long day!

The highlight of my day was finding this picture!
This is my dream!!!
I'm in the market for a 67-69 Camaro SS/RS !!!
It will be refurbished to look like my 2010 2SS/RS in snow white with a solid black strip!!

She's missing her 1st gen sister.

_____

Now I'm off to pack for our ski trip tomorrow!

Light my Sapphire!

I woke up yesterday and realized that my test was less then 24 hours away. A chemistry test that I hadn't even started studying for... Hence my breakfast was fast and boring:

A little grilled cheese sandwich... it looked so sad on my plate, all lonely... BOO

So I have this annoying habit, that when I study, and I mean really sit down and actually crack open a book, I have to be eating something.
I get a very serious case of munchies... and yesterday the pantry was pretty empty :-(.
My tummy kept grumbling, and I kept fidgeting.
My brain decided it was not going to start solving problems until it had some kind of an energy source...

I fed my needy body some apples and peanut butter.
I love this stuff... you can say I'm a little obsessed over it.

Do you see my cool Valentines latte mug in the background???

Once I was fed, I tried to avoid actually getting started on Chem...
There was a camera sitting next to me...
I took some random pictures

This is the top of the mug! I love hearts!
I also love the background on my laptop!
<3

I finally got to some chem...
It was dreadful and painful
So I cheered myself up with some lunch

Left over breakfast tacos with some pico!
I let them sit on top of the Chem book to emphasize how much more important food is!!

Then I did about a 100 Chem problems and decided to take a little break!

My hot pink nail polish was all chipped, and I wanted to get something fresh on my nails.
I was going to go with the obnoxious orange.
It's a matte construction orange when painted on.
However, I went with the blue-black in the background.

It's one of my favorite colors and is called Light My Sapphire.
(**NOTE** I am not paid for this, this is a personal product that I use, and am recommending it on my own)

I love when my nails are short and painted.
I don't know why I spent so many years wearing acrylics...
In boring pearl French... BLAH

********
Another 100+ problems later, I was all Chemed out!
That's right, Chemed is a word!

Dinner was some left over mash potatoes, a small breaded fillet of cod, and some of my mom's cabbage salad!
It was aHHHmazing!

Yup... That was my entire... day...

____________________
Today was even more boring...

I had a banana-strawberry smoothie for breakfast, after my test.
Which went okay...
I had a major craving for a smoothie so I stopped by the grocery store to get ingredients.
King Soopers had fresh strawberries on sale for $3.99 (buy one get one free)!!!
SCORE!

In the SMOOTHIE:
1 Banana
6 strawberries
1/2 cup of Almond Breeze
3 scoops of vanilla ice cream ( I had to add something fatty and unhealthy ;-))

It was fantastic! I think I'll have another tomorrow!

I met my grandfather for lunch today, we had our traditional Tuna sandwiches, a cup of coffee and shared a cinnamon roll!
It was fantastic, but I forgot to snap a picture of it.
You have to forgive me... I'm so new at this blogging thing, and my little brain was too Chemed out to try and remember.

Dinner!

This was a work of art!
I had time to cook up a whole meal!

We had grilled shrimp with wild rice
A side of steamed broccoli drizzled with olive oil and Parmesan cheese
And a side of fresh strawberries...

In case you were wondering, I have a love affair with strawberries!!!

So this was my catch up... See you all in the morning!
I am going to rest my exhausted little brain!!!

Unmotivated Student

I did four load of laundry, made breakfast, lunch and dinner for the family, cleaned the bedroom, and read a lot online, all to avoid getting to my Chemistry. In fact, I am doing it right now. Sitting here, thinking what else can I do to keep myself from opening the Chemistry textbook... Unfortunately, I've ran out of excuses and have a test first thing Wednesday morning. :-(

Lunch:

Home made breakfast taco with home made pico!!!
One of the easiest things to make! Donald and I would make large batches of these and freeze 'em in small containers. Then pull out a container, microwave and you have a ready meal!
Don't let the name full you, we eat these guys for breakfast, lunch and dinner! :-)

Dinner:

That picture does not do my dinner justice! Home made burger was amazing!
Add a handful of fries and a pickle and it is perfect!

I've had major munchies today, I think it's got a lot to do with the fact that I've been trying to keep myself away from Chemistry: A molecular approach *Gahggg*

I also ordered the Vince Camuto's... :-D
I really need to stop shopping!
SOOO... this will be the last pair of shoes I buy until graduation.
So my goal is May.
Plus, I'm going to try and Kendi's 30 for 30 remix!!!
Granted I have to actually finish washing all my clothing, and organize my closet.

Well... I guess it's actually back to the dreaded chemistry... :-(

Vince Camuto has stole my heart!

I've been MIA due to an unfair amount of Chemistry homework that was dumped on my lap by my professor... along with a test this Wednesday. I don't know what this lady is thinking but she can't just give us 60 questions for homework with less then 72 hours to get it done, especially when she did an awful job of actually lecturing about it.

Okaiiieee ... I'm done venting about Chemistry...

Breakfast:

An apple with peanut butter! It was deliciouses!!!

Yup, it was great enough to take two pictures!

Over this weekend my mother bought a pair of Vince Camuto Oxfords and I am drooling over them!!!

I really want them!! :-)

Q: Do you think the shoes are worth it?! They are super comfy!

Life as We Know It

Today was an excellent day filled with family and friends. I love the fact that my Fridays are now free to do as I please. I especially love having my lunch/coffee date with my grandfather and date nights with Katy.

After having a fantastic Italian dinner with Katy, Kevin and their adorable daughter Kodi, I came, parked myself on the couch with every intention of getting some homework down, however I ended up watching Life as We Know It with Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel

The movie didn't get stellar reviews but was recommended by Katy, who's opinion I value highly, so I gave it a shot.
Not only did it have me laughing my butt off, but it also made me reflect on a serious question that I feel everyone should think about, if they are every going to have children.

Donald and I are blessed to have an amazing family and a handful of fantastic friends. In those select few friends are Katy and Kevin, who are an amazing couple as well as fantastic parents. Not only that, they our closest friends. We know that no matter what happens we can call up Katy and Kevin and they would be there for us in a heartbeat.

Watching Life as We Know It, I affirmed our decision that when we have children we would like Katy and Kevin to be the godparents. (We really hope they agree :-))

If anything were to happen to Donald and I, I would trust no one else to take care of our child(ren). Both, Katy and Kevin, are the type of friends millions will die for. They are honest, caring, trusting and above all amazing people who would do anything to make life a little easier and brighter for their friends and family.
Did I mention that they are also phenomenal parents????!!!

I am honestly blessed and very honored to call them my friends.

Q: If you have children or plan on having children, who would you name as their godparent and/or guardian and why?

Grumpy Thursday

I'm grumpy... I've been running around everywhere but haven't really got anything accomplished.
To top it all off, I've been really bad about documenting what I eat. However I've tried to go with the healthier choices...
The last picture of food I have is our dinner spread last night.

Make your own Mexican bar!
Mexican Rice, faijita veggies, refried beans, grilled steak, grilled chicken, along with home made pico de gallo, queso, guacamole and all other goodies to garnish with!!

This was in a belated celebration of my birthday!
My mother-in-law went all out and bought me a  bunch of scrapbooking goodies!
Now I need to print more pictures, and as I was going through the years worth of pictures on my computer, I came across some from our trip to Cancun, Mexico...
These made me a little less grumpy... and a little bit more depressed that we wont see the ocean until April.

On a perfectly sunny day you could see eight different shades of blue across the ocean!
Beautiful, and so peaceful!

The ocean is our favorite! We love the mountains of CO, but being by the ocean, diving and relaxing is our top priority.

We stayed at the RUI Palace Las Americas (in case you can't read :-))
Not our favorite hotel, but it was in Cancun and we were there for the bars and nightclubs, so we dealt with it!

We met Courtney and Josh while there, and had a fantastic time! They are a fantastically fun couple to travel with, and we're hoping on a vacation sometime in the near future.

We paid for our vacation in the amount of Don Julio we consumed! It made for some interesting stories!

We also spent a lot of time playing with my DSLR, and somehow we were able to take these pictures!
That's Donald and I standing on the balcony above the beach!
How cool?!!!!

Q. What is your current daydream location???

Always catch the sunrise

I've been told that you can always tell how your day will go by the sunrise!

And this morning it was beautiful!

This is the view I woke up to at 6:30 am this morning! I just had to grab my camera and take a picture! The picture is taken through the windows above our family room!

The colors were just amazing!
True to the saying, I've been having a pretty beautiful day today!

Breakfast:

I met a childhood friend of mine for a cup of coffee and some breakfast this morning!

Breakfast consisted of a Asiago Cheese Pretzel and a cup of green tea!
It was pretty delicious! I love snacking on these pretzels but I feel that they are more than enough for a quick breakfast!

After the breakfast/coffee date, I worked for a bit! Then, at around 1:30PM, decided that it was time to go home and have some lunch...

Lunch:

Lunch was pretty boring, just a turkey sandwich with a side of bread and butter pickle.
It got the job done, but nothing exciting about it.

PHOTO WORKSHOP!!!!

Over this past weekend I had the opportunity to attend a photography workshop in downtown Denver. The class was held by Chimpsy and the instructor was Mark Cafiero, who is an amazing wedding photographer, check out some of his work by clicking on his name!
Mark was able to get a newbie, like me, to shoot in full manual in a matter of a hour and a half!
Both my friend, Lena and I really enjoyed the class and are planning on going back for more!

This might be one of my favorite shots from the workshop!
Lena's shoe!
The photo on the left is slightly adjusted and the photo on the right is the raw image from the camera!
Now I am drooling over a new lens for my DSLR... oH the wonders it will do...

This one from Canon would be lovely... sadly it is $1700.00 and a weeeeieee bit out of my budget.
:-(
One day you will be mine!!!

OTHER UPDATES

My hair is finally done and it looks beautiful!

Thank you to the beautiful Kaitlin Herrera!!!
The red is the amazing crimson red that I have been wanting for so long! Not only is it in my bangs but also in the chunks of blond that I use to have! It looks fantastic!

Postcard from France!!!

A friend of mine was in Paris and send me this beautiful postcard!

For those of you who know me, you know that I love getting postcards!!! I'll even send myself one every time we are on a trip so that I can have the stamp from the country or state that it came from!!!

HINT**** Send me postcards, I'll love you forever!!

MARK TWAIN & TEA!!

I got this beautiful first edition, Franklin Library leather bound, gold-gilt edged Huckleberry Finn from my grandfather for my birthday! When I heard about the editing that will be taking place in this book I was outraged! I shared my feelings with my grandfather, and he remembered! He got me this "unedited" book so that I can always have the original script written by Twain!

PS... this is the note from Mark Twain in my collector's edition of Huck Finn!

I also received this beautiful tea set from my aunt!
I'm a little in love with it!

The countdown to my next birthday has begun.
I've mentioned before that I love birthdays... actually I love anything that gives me a reason to dress up, eat good food and celebrate... and if you add a few gifts to the list then I am all set!
So the countdown till my next birthday starts, but there is also Donald's birthday, our anniversary, Christmas, and New Years in between now and than. Not to mention a few other celebrations!

A home made chicken quesadilla with cheddar cheese and salsa Verde! Along with some fresh brewed ice tea, thanks to my fantastic hubby!

Now for a recap of the birthday!!!!

We went out to dinner at Fogo de Chao, our favorite Brazilian restaurant!
We had some fantastic food, along with a bottle of one of our favorite wines!

Beringer's White Zinfandel
It's a blush wine but classified under white Zinfandel. It's pretty fantastic!

This was dessert! A papaya ice cream mousse!

YUM!!!

Donald went to Shane again! He bought me a ring for my right hand! I love blue sapphire and they just happen to be Donald's birth stone!

I will get the rest of the birthday, my new hair and boots up in the next post!

Time for homework... -_-

Typical Monday

My morning started out at 6 am by scrapping a foot of snow and ice from my brother's car in order to get to class. It was just LOVELY!!!

Took a good 30 minutes to get all the powder off the car, then another 20 minutes of actual scrapping, and in the end I didn't get everything off. The car didn't fully heat up until I got to school (45 minute drive).

Donald and I went to see Sanctum last night with his parents, and I'll recap that for you once I get breakfast and lunch out of the way,

After class I headed back to home. I had to meet a student at 10:30 at the local Barnes & Nobel so I decided I'd get breakfast there.

I'm trying to get crafty with my point and shoot... since it isn't really an option to drag around my DSLR...
I say this picture turned out pretty good, especially after some editing :-)
Breakfast consisted of Harney&Sons English Breakfast Tea along with a toasted bagel and some cream cheese! It was perfect for a very chilled Zara! I did burn my tongue a little bit while trying to warm myself with my extremely hot tea.

Than I worked for about two and a half hours.

When I got home around 1:30 pm, I realized that I was starving, wanting something that would warm me up I opted for some soup.

The Steak and Potato soup also had some carrots and mushrooms in it. A serving with a piece of bread was more than enough. I also drank about half a can of Diet Sierra Mist before realizing that I wasn't really enjoying it.

I made myself another cup of tea! A TAZO black and green bland! One of my all-time favorites! I am about to enjoy another cup of this.

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as consuming too much tea?!

Now on to the movie:

I'm sure you all have seen the previews for it, but view above if not.
So it is based on a real life experience of the co-writer Andrew Wight. In 1988, while on a deep-sea cave diving expedition Wight encountered a freak storm that collapsed in the entryway. So he was stuck in a cave underwater for two days. The movie centers around this situation. A wealthy businessman is funding the exploration of the world's largest unexplored underwater cave system. A tropical storm turns into a cyclone and starts to flood the cave while Frank, the master diver is still down in the base camp with four others. The entrance get's blocked by a large boulder and the water level keeps raising. Frank and his team (including his young son Josh) have to find another way out of the cave system or drown. With limited supplies, no clear plan and a newbie to diving Frank follows the river to try and find a way out.
I wont spoil the movie for those who will go see it, but it isn't a feel good movie. Its a movie about survival, heroism and making tough choices.
As I set there, next to my husband and dive buddy I wondered what I would do in such a situation. Granted the idea of diving in a cave scares the bajesus out of me, but still. So many things can go wrong in under the sea.

I hope that y'all go see the movie. It really is a good film!
I also hope that it doesn't discourage you from trying or continuing to dive!
