Happy birthday

… to the best husband in the world.

Dear Husband,

Today marks the 5th year that we will celebrate your birthday together. It’s been an adventure going through the years. We have changed and grown a great deal as a couple. Your first birthday was only a month after our first “official” date, and I can still remember you picking me up from work to go to the Underworld concert. I remember, curling up in the front seat of the Avalanche and falling asleep on the drive home. I remember you gently nudging me awake as you pulled up to my driveway. I never thought that I would love you as much as I do today. If on September 11th of 2007, someone told me that in just a little over two years we would be married and building our amazing little life together, I would have never believed them.

24th Birthday, the Avenue Q show at the Denver Preforming Arts Center, where we set next to the awkward old man and his son who couldn’t stop laughing at the “Internet is for Porn” song.

25th Birthday, celebrated in Vail with just the two of us, before coming down to Denver and heading out to a lounge and pool with some great friends.

26th Birthday… I don’t have an actual photo from this day, since somehow our point and shoot got lost. We celebrated the day in Chatfield Reservoir where I got open water certified by a great Dive Master from A-1 Scuba.

Today, we’ll celebrate your 27th birthday with some of our closest and dearest friends and family. I can’t promise that I will not overcook, or that I will not make a big deal of you. But I can promise that this year is going to be yet another great one.

I love you, more today then yesterday and more tomorrow then today.

A birthday weekend

… with our best friends.

A weekend filled with lots of laughs, great food, and even better friends. These are the days that make the boring, frustrating and discouraging days so worth it. These are our closest friends, who, over the years, have become our family. I’d literally take a bullet for every single person pictured above. <3

What I’m Loving Wednesday!

I had so much fun linking up with Jamie over at This Kind of Love, last Wednesday and reading all the fabulous posts from everyone that I am doing it again today.

First and foremost, I am loving the fact that today is my last chemistry lectures, hopefully forever. Yup, one more quiz to do today, a homework assignment due by Friday and a final on Monday and I will be done. Keep your fingers crossed that I actually pass the class, and am done for … well … forever!!!

For those of you who know my shoe obsession, this will come as no surprise…

I am absolutely in love with these Naughty Monkey Mish Mash Ankle-Strap Pumps. Aren’t they fantastic? I love the bright yellow as well. It is such a perfect summer color. Not to mention, that Naughty Monkey shoes are probably some of the most comfortable heels I have ever owned. These beauties might be added to my list of graduation gifts… HINT HINT*** Mom!!!

I am back to a daily visit to the gym, now that my knee is feeling better. I am loving it. There really isn’t a better high then getting all the yuck out of your system with a good workout! I especially love going to the gym in the morning, because it gets me up and going with lots of energy for the rest of the day.

I am very much loving myfitnesspal.com which has been the most fantastic tool for me thus far in my new journey to find a balanced life that is both healthy and fit. I have never been able to count calories, but this little guy helps keep track of everything, and the best part is I can do it all from my phone!

Today is also my grandfather’s 79th birthday. I cannot tell you how happy I am that he is here with us to celebrate. He has had quite an eventful year (78) with being hit by a car, several other biking accidents, getting diagnosed with TB to only be told that he didn’t have TB and to top it off be diagnosed with lung cancer and survive a surgery that people half his age would barely have a chance to. Now,5 weeks after his surgery my grandfather is back on his bike doing 50 to 70 mile trips, lugging books around and running around just like his old self.

And of course, I am loving my fantastic hubby who has been nothing but supportive, loving and understanding through our 4 years of dating and a year and a half of marriage.

Love you Mister!

What are you loving today?! Head over to Jamie’s and link up!
