What I’m Loving on a Snowy Day

Today we woke up to this sight:

Frost on the windowSnow on the side deckStreet View B&W

There is over a foot of snow everywhere, and it’s still coming down. I get to stay home with my hot tea and work, but the hubs had to venture out in the mini blizzard to get to work. It took him a good 30 minutes to clean off the Cavalier and get it warm enough to start melting the sheet of ice on it.

I wanted to share a few of the things I love on this snowy Wednesday, and what better way to do it then linking up with the beautiful Jamie and What I’m Loving Wednesday.

I am loving the new tires on our Camaro, makes it a lot easier to drive around in the snow, instead of getting stuck.

We will hopefully never see the sight above. Poor car stuck in the snow and unable to get into the garage. The new tires are actually made to grip the snow and get us going.

I’m also loving the new ZL1 Camaros and kind of wanting one.

Isn’t it beautiful?! Completely unpractical, but drool-worthy!

I am loving the floorplan of our to be house

I am not loving that we still don’t have a move date, and that we may have to build the house from ground up rather then walk into the already built, ready to move in house we saw on our trip to Tucson.

I am loving the fact that we’ll be getting our wedding photos done, finally!!! After two years of marriage we’ll have beautiful, professional photos done by my good friend Lena Karabushin. She was the mastermind behind our engagement shots.

I’m loving that by tomorrow evening, these dresses will be delivered to me.

And loving the fact that in just 8 days we’ll be heading out on a little road trip to Texas.

I’m especially loving my 50mm f1.4 lens. It is AHmazing and worth every little penny.

And as always I’m loving this man:

Instant Gratification Problem

I have several huge problems but the current one is instant gratification, I have no patients for waiting around, when I want something I MUST have it then and there.

I realize that the problem is childish, and that as a grown adult I need to realize and accept that I cannot have everything at once, but need to wait, budget and earn the things I want. However, I am very much like a little child and tend to throw fits, even if it is just in my own presence with no one watching. I’ve even cried about certain things when I realized that I couldn’t have them right then and there.

You are probably thinking, what an idiot, of course you have to wait, budget and earn the things you want in life… and I agree… but I need to point out that this is my problem.

For example, I want to re-decorating our room, and what started out as a painting project has now turned into a whole overhaul. I just got the IKEA catalogue and now want to get not just a new mattress but also a new bed, and a dresser and some night stands that match. I also want to redo the whole closet and maybe/hopefully create some more room. HOWEVER, all of this is going to cost a ton of money… and money is what we don’t have right now. I got a job so that we could pay off our debt not add more to it. BUT my little “NOW” monster is kicking in and wanting everything now.

Another example is our newest car. We were in the market for a new car simply because we needed another daily driver that wasn’t our project car. So we went to look for a truck, because I wanted one. Not because we needed one, I simply wanted a big truck. No rhyme or reason to it. Then, we got our senses together and decided that we should look at smaller coups since they would be more affordable and practical, with gas prices and such… OH and more in our budget. BUT then we ended up walking off the lot with a top of the line Camaro…fail! Oh and I’d like to add, just because you can afford something doesn’t mean you should get it… why is it that I cannot take my own advice?

While I love our car, and have loved our vacations, and love all the clothes and dresses and crap we have, I realize that we also have a huge problem. The debt we have is not just from these things. I have school loans and such, but a good portion of it is our car. And reckless spending. So another issue comes into play. I want the debt gone. RIGHT NOW. I wish I had the money to pay it off. This is another one of my “NOW” moments.

I guess the point to this pointless post is, how do you handle these urges to have the things you want then and there? How do you deal with the “NOW” monster?

Pumpin’ tires

This morning reluctantly left my warm bed, and went out into the snow, freezing outdoors that is Colorado. Yes, after several days in the 70s we got dumped on Sunday afternoon and night. This morning there was a good 3 inches of snow on the cars outside, but lo and behold the roads were completely dry and the weather man predicted a high of 68… BOOO Colorado BOO… this is not Winning.

IMG_1309I just don’t understand why the weather has to be so darn complicated, it’s like a whiney girl who can’t make up her mind!

Anyways… I got up, got dressed, drove all the way to school, paid $6.00 to park and then took a test that tried real hard to kick my ass, but I fought back. I think we both left the classroom with some cuts and bruises, but no broken bones.

I wish I was confident in my chemistry answers to pull one of these ^^^   Smile

By the time I got home I was famished, so I made myself some French toast. It was delicious!

They might not have been healthy but they are quick, delicious and totally worth it! I added a little bit of syrup which made it even better! Yum!!

At 4:30 I left for the gym.

I worked on my legs a little before the Body Pump class started at 5:30. It sort of kicked my ass. Skipping a whole week, and not eating anything before the class was a bad idea. I got a little lightheaded halfway through and had to step out for about 5 minutes. After I got myself under control, I went back in and finish the hour. Wednesday should be better!

I worked a total of an hours and a half and I know my legs are going to kill me tomorrow morning, but it feels so great!

Then I came out of the gym and found a complete flat tire on the Camaro. Sad smile I was very, very, very sad. I had to call the Husband to bring me an air pump to so that I could pump enough air into it to get me home, since at 7 PM there are no shops that are open and willing to fix the 6 inch nail that is stuck in my tire. Sad smile

Hope ya’ll had a fantastic Monday!

Mucho Love!
