What I’m Loving <3

It’s been a really long time since I’ve done one of these posts, and I figured what a better way to start of my busy Wednesday then by reminding myself about the things I love.

 

As you all know in the last few weeks we’ve been doing a lot of back and forth driving between Tucson and Denver. We’ve also managed to pack, move, get a new car, bring home our baby all while working full time, traveling for work (on the hubs part) and being extremely sick. So here is what I’m loving now that things have settled back down.

Our beautiful house!

This was the day we finally got our keys. I had just gotten a diagnosis of bronchitis and a sinus infection. It seems every big event in our lives is marked by illness (we were both sick on our wedding day).

What I love most about the house, is the amazingly beautiful and large kitchen.

This was taken the day we had our initial walk through of the house, so there is actually a fridge in the gaping hole in the wall, and the counters are covered in dishes/boxes and other things to still unpack.

I’m absolutely loving the neighborhood and I am so glad that we picked Sahuarita over Oro Valley.

Not only is it all green and beautiful, but there is also a pool at every corner, a water park for kids and teens, several parks all around, over 7 miles of walking trails, a full gym that is included in the HOA fees and two DOG PARKS.

I’m loving the kitchen table we got to match our barstools:

AND the price on it! The whole set, delivered was $320.00. I had bought the bar stools about 2 and a half years ago, for $50.00 a piece. The backs, the metal and the cloth all match, and I cannot wait until it gets here.

I am loving this housewarming present from my parents.

It’s seriously the best invention every! I love that it takes less then a minute to get my coffee/tea ready in the morning. And the fact that I can make ice tea with this as well, makes me one happy girl.

I’m LOVING my new car.

We had really outgrown our little beater, so I gave the Camaro to the hubs and we got ourselves an SUV.  Lilly loves the back seat! I love the roomy interior and the great, smooth ride. This car is going to be fantastic for long road trips, and runs to Costco and Home Depot.

Our Lilly Bug is such a sweetheart and the best thing that’s happened to us! She is currently sleeping with her head on my lap and I couldn’t be a happier gal!

What I’m Loving on a Snowy Day

 

Today we woke up to this sight:

There is over a foot of snow everywhere, and it’s still coming down. I get to stay home with my hot tea and work, but the hubs had to venture out in the mini blizzard to get to work. It took him a good 30 minutes to clean off the Cavalier and get it warm enough to start melting the sheet of ice on it.

I wanted to share a few of the things I love on this snowy Wednesday, and what better way to do it then linking up with the beautiful Jamie and What I’m Loving Wednesday.

I am loving the new tires on our Camaro, makes it a lot easier to drive around in the snow, instead of getting stuck.

We will hopefully never see the sight above. Poor car stuck in the snow and unable to get into the garage. The new tires are actually made to grip the snow and get us going.

I’m also loving the new ZL1 Camaros and kind of wanting one.

Isn’t it beautiful?! Completely unpractical, but drool-worthy!

I am loving the floorplan of our to be house

I am not loving that we still don’t have a move date, and that we may have to build the house from ground up rather then walk into the already built, ready to move in house we saw on our trip to Tucson.

I am loving the fact that we’ll be getting our wedding photos done, finally!!! After two years of marriage we’ll have beautiful, professional photos done by my good friend Lena Karabushin. She was the mastermind behind our engagement shots.

I’m loving that by tomorrow evening, these dresses will be delivered to me.

 

And loving the fact that in just 8 days we’ll be heading out on a little road trip to Texas.

I’m especially loving my 50mm f1.4 lens. It is AHmazing and worth every little penny.

What I’m Lovin’

 

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve linked up with Jamie for What I’m Loving Wednesday and there are lots of things I’m loving lately so here it is.

I’m loving our new matrass that Husband insisted on buying because I kept waking up with back pain. I’ve been sleeping like a baby, and waking up with no back pain. I’m a little iffy on the height of it though. The matrass AND the box spring sit on top of our platform bed… which means I’m about 3.5 feet off the ground and have to literally JUMP up into bed. 

I’m very much considering investing in a step stool to get me into bed. Maybe I’ll even convince Husband to get us a pup?!

I’m loving this video of my friends pup Kiowa! He’s the cutiest thing in the world, and literally makes me smile on a daily basis.

I’m loving that fall is right around the corner and that my allergies will finally ease up. I’ve been dying over here with itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing and all other kinds of nastiness. Plus the fall colors are just beautiful.

Not only are the colors beautiful but I get to wear boots again, and scarves and hats and such. I just love fall.

I am NOT loving that we’ve decided on selling our project car. It break my heart to see that car go. We’ve put so much time and money into it already and the sentimental value of the car is too high. However, there is no way we could move it with us, and it would cost us another $10k to $20k to get it where we want it to be. So, sometime in the near future we’ll clean it all out, take some pretty pictures of it and kiss it goodbye. I hope that she’ll go into a good home with people who are willing to appreciate the work done on the car and the love put into it.

On the brighter note, I’m loving that we’ll have a little bit more cash in our bank account which will allow us to trade in our shitbox Cavalier for a Lancer EVO or a WRX STI, which are both nice little sports cars with all-wheel drive and a back seat. Making it much easier to travel back and forth between states to go visit friends and family.

           

I’m also loving that Husband is totally supportive of the career options I have, and agrees that getting my masters as a “backup plan” is a good idea. So I’m also loving that I will be starting a graduate program in September and will spend the next two years getting my MS in Organizational Leadership.

I’m loving that these beauties should be getting to me sometime today, and cannot wait to see how they fit. I hope well, because I really need a pair of wedge sandals.

And as always I am loving my handsome hubby, who is literally the light of my life. Ha! I sound so cheesy. But I do love him particularly a lot today… might have something to do with the fact that he is in VA for the week without me!

He might kill me for this photo, but I love it! It’s from our first trip to Texas before we were married. He used a hatchet to open a coconut. It was quite an adventure.

What I’m Loving Wednesday

I’ve been obsessing over homes lately, and now that I’m done with school and we are simply waiting for the right time and the money to move, both the Mister and I have been looking at a ton of homes to find the perfect one for us.

Here is one that we are both in love with, but it happens to be entirely too big for just the two of us, but perfect for a permanent long term home where we’d have kids and such.

This is a Toll Brothers home, and has the option of having a 6 car garage. Which is an option we would opt for.

This foyer is perfect. Literally perfect. I want the double staircase in our home.

I love when the kitchen and living/family room are adjoined. It gives a much more “family” oriented feel. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen experimenting and we spend even more time on the couch reading, writing playing and so on. Notice the little writing desk on the side. This would be perfect.

The master bedroom is large. Which I don’t really care too much about since we literally only sleep in our bedroom, and spend lots more time hanging around in the living room/kitchen area.

I do love the large windows in the room. BUT now for the grand finally:

The bathroom! Look at this bathroom!!! HOW PERFECT IS THIS?! I truly believe that kitchens and master baths sell houses, at least that’s the case with us. Throw in the large garage and we are literally sold. If we had the money, and were in Texas right now, you can bet you bum that we would be signing the contract for this house.

Oh and this is what awaits in the back yard:

Other then this beautiful home, I’m loving my father’s mechanic who saved us $400 yesterday when he did the upkeep on our shitbox that BreaksPlus was trying to make us pay $800.

Thank you so much Sasha! I know that we’ll never be going anywhere else for any of our cars, and we’ll be sending as much business as we can over to you.

And of course… I’m loving my fantastic husband who has been my rock through these past few weeks of freaking out.

Our Little Story… Part I

 

I’ve really been thinking about writing our story up. I’ve meant to do it for a long time but have been putting it off, just because I’m a procrastinator. So I figured today I’ll get it done, at least a part of it, since it’s Friday and I really should be studying for that Chemistry Exam on Monday.

The Mister and I didn’t start out dating right away, and to this day I am still finding out little things that were all pre-planned in his head but I never had a clue about.

We met when I was just 16, a junior in high school with no plans other then the desire to drive fast cars. At the stage in my life I was looking to VR-4s, the turbo Mitsubishi 3000GTs which were a dream. Mitsubishi has stopped producing them in ‘99 and I badly wanted one.

The Car that Brought Us Together!

This is not a picture of our car… for some reason I don’t have a single one on the computer I am working off right now, and don’t feel like driving to storage to take a photo of it. So deal with it. It is a ‘92 VR4 with Twin Turbos (15s) on it. The color is a bit faded on our since the previous owner had it in Hawaii sitting out in the sun, but it wont be red for long.

We met online, on a car forum specifically for VR-4s, and became internet buddies. Back in the day, AIM was the thing to do, so we talked… A LOT… mostly about cars. We also chatted about movies, school and I did a fair share of complaining in the relationship department.

I dated my share of boys while the Mister and I were friends, I bought my first car which happened to be the furthest thing from a VR-4, but it was all I could afford at the time. I turned 18, I graduated high school, I got into college, and my to be husband at the time was there to support me through all of it. He even edited my Extended Essay (for IB and graduation) as well as my college entrance essay which happened to be about cars and racing.

  

I just recently found out that the Mister was always interested in me, however the almost 5 year age difference between us wouldn’t allow him to ask me out until I tuned 18. But when I turned 18 I was in a relationship with a boy in Boston, who’d be moving back to Denver soon. I thought I was in love, and we planned on getting married. Of course I revealed all this to the Mister since we were just friends and I was a dumb teenager who thought she found her prince charming.

After graduation I left for a trip to Europe for my older brother’s wedding. I would be gone for a little over a month. The Mister would write me emails while he was down in Texas visiting his family, and we made plans to meet up and share pictures. D (this is how we’ll refer to my now ex then boyfriend) didn’t even call me during the month I was gone.

My two brothers, beautiful sister in law and I at my their 7.7.7 wedding in Yerevan, Armenia. One of the best and most beautiful weddings I have ever been too.

Shortly after I returned from my trip, D and I broke up in a dramatic, tear filled, ring throwing type way. I walked away and he never followed me. I was heart broken and spend a good day crying my eyes out on my best friend’s shoulder.

David, on the left, and Johnny, his younger brother, at my graduation party 5 years ago. David has been one of my closest and dearest friends since I met him his freshman year of high school.

The breakup was sometime at the end of July, and I moved on. D and I didn’t talk at all for months after, and I started spending more time with friends, including the Mister. I had blown the Mister off several times because of D or family or what not. However, when 300 came out, the Mister insisted that we go see it. So we did.

That was our first unofficial date. 

The Mister and I stayed friends for a few more weeks. He helped me transfer from the University of Denver to the University of Colorado Denver. He helped me sign up for last minute classes, walked me all over campus, helped me buy my books and figure out what else to do. We started spending a lot more time together, and when I got my job at Wells Fargo, he came with me downtown to do my paperwork, and asked me out on our first official date that evening.

On August 13th we went out to Mt. Fuji in Castle Rock, one of the best sushi restaurants in Denver. In our opinion. The night was fantastic, filled with great conversation and even better food.

This was shortly after our first date, and our first “official picture as a couple.
