The last week and a half

I had to keep a little secret from you all… but I had good reason.

My parents are born 12 hours apart… same year and all, and their birthdays happen to be on the 27th and 28th of April. So, I decided to surprise them and drive home to see them, without telling them.

It’s a pretty long story, but I ended up making it without them having a clue … this is why I couldn’t post on here as my mother reads this little blog of mine. Thanks to my beautiful friend Kristin for chatting it up with me on my long drive, Tina Fey for keeping me entertained on my drive home and of course my Lilly bug for keeping me company. I have a post dedicated to the trip coming to you over this week.

I also had the opportunity to take some photos of two of my beautiful friends while in Denver. Here is a sneak peek.

I’ll have more of each of these through the week. I’m pretty impressed with myself, and love these two for letting me practice on them. I’ve learned so much, and yet there is always more to learn.

While in Denver I also got to meet one of my most favorite bloggers! I’ve met Janna over a year ago through blogging and sort of hated her at first, because she is so dang beautiful. BUT then I got to know her better and fell in love!  She is one of the sweetest, nicest and incredible ladies I’ve met and I’m so glad to call her a real friend!

I made it home on Friday, after driving for two days to my incredible husband who had cleaned the floors and done all the dishes!

Also, a beautiful little bracelet was waiting for me when I got home from my bestie Kristin.

I finished off the week by spending some quality time with the Hubs, celebrating the 5th of May with tacos, margaritas and good company, buying a new patio set, doing homework and some awesome power yoga!

Friday Confessional

 

It’s Friday again and time for the confessions for the week. I’m linking up with Mamarazzi!

I’ve been thinking a lot lately, and that usually means trouble. I had gotten myself so stressed over money that I ended up going a little insane. So my confessions might be a bit long this week, and I will not hold it against you if you skip through them.

So here goes…

I confess … that it felt so good today to put in my two weeks notice. I really don’t know what I’ll do, but I know that I am done working for free. My time is valuable and should be compensated for.

I confess … that it felt really good to take some time on Wednesday morning and go to yoga. It was perfect and so relaxing. I also confess that I can feel the soreness in my shoulders and back… who says yoga isn’t exercise?!

I confess … that I have spent way more than I should have this week. It’s sad how everything runs out at the same time. I am still shampoo less, and have to make a trip down to my stylist to pick it up.

I confess … I almost canceled my gym membership because the customer service rep was mean to me. I also confess that he made me so angry I may or may not have stomped around my office, even though no one could see me.

I confess … I was super nice to the next customer service rep I talked to at Key Bank, and got my way. It made me feel a lot better.

I confess … that I am writing this post instead of writing a paper that I need to send to a client by tomorrow afternoon. OOPS

I confess … that I really want to have my own business, BUT I struggle with separating work and home life. AND I am looking forward to working for someone else for a while. I just want to go to work, do my job come home and relax. No more of this tutoring stuff, no more worrying about how big my next paycheck will be, and so on. It feels nice to know that soon enough I’ll have this opportunity. HOPEFULLY!

I confess … that I am obsessing over a new ring. Especially with the possibility of a new job. I just love jewelry. A new ring and some diamond studs would be perfect.

I confess … that I really enjoyed Transformers: Dark of the Moon, even though it did not get very good reviews. I just love all the cars in the movie, and I thought it had some nice twists. I also LOVE the new look Bee has. I do have to admit it pissed me off that they killed off Ironhide. And I might have shed a few tears when Bee says by to Sam. Yeah… I’m a nerd. And my next car is going to be Ironhide.

I confess… that it is now 12:04 am and I wanted this posted by 12:01… and that drives me and my OCD self insane. I think I will post this and go to bed. And worry about the paper and all that tomorrow. Maybe, maybe not.

Here I am! Back, from my nightmare of a week! I am feeling much better now that the Mister is home, and I’ve gotten a few things taken care of and settled.

When I first started this blog I honestly did not think that many people would actually follow, or even care about it. It was a way for me to document my life journey and share my thoughts with whoever felt like reading. However, what I discovered was a community of women who are so caring and loving that I never expected. I have found some amazing friends through my little blog and am so happy to have them in my life.

I want to thank every single one of you that heads over here and reads what I have to say. I know it’s a mixture of lots of different things, but that’s what my life is like and this is who I am. Again, thank you for caring, for being supportive and just overall fantastic.

What I’m Loving Wednesday

 

It’s Wednesday, and that means that I’m link up with beautiful Jamie over at This Kind of Love.

There is always so much to love on Wednesday, especially lately. Wednesdays have turned into my favorite days of the week. Usually, I have the day off from work, school, and such. I get to have lunch with my grandpa and I get to catch up on life. Today, might be a little hectic since I have a few articles to start and finish since my computer is still inaccessible it might be a bit of a complicated task, but regardless the sun is shining, and everything is at peace.

Oh and to top things off, my cousin just had her baby halfway across the world. I wish I could go see my new little niece but it may have to wait until next summer when we have the money for such an expensive trip. BOO! I want to see her NOW. Any of you want to finance my trip?! Any takers at all?! 

Anyways, so that would be the first thing I’m loving! I have a new niece I get to buy all kinds of cute things for. I’m thinking some of these:

My friend Ashley makes these beautiful baby accessories, and I talked about her in this post. She is the owner of Cupcake Couture. You all should check them out if you have little ones that need cute accessories.

Aren’t they just perfect? She has a ton of other items that I am absolutely in love with. AND I sort of wish I had unlimited funds to make all of them mine. I am going to have to add a few of them to my collection regardless. LOVE them!.

I need a new pair of flats, and I love the yellow, and the gems on this Naughty Monkey. They seem perfect for a summer day out or even a night out on the town.

These Guess by Marciano wedges are amazing. They look perfect for the summer. And I just love, LOVE, love Guess shoes. I haven’t owned a pair that was not comfortable or that I did not absolutely love.

As always I’m loving life in general.

And of course my handsome, hard working and absolutely amazing husband.

I’d like to point out that he deals with the above very well, and its another reason why I love him so dang much.

Graduation – Dress to Impress

If money was not an issue, this would be the outfit I would be wearing next Saturday under the ugly cap and gown.

I have a similar dress, and jewelry. I might have to find shoes and the headband though. The colors will be red, black and white though.

Wednesday Wants

 

There are some things that are a must in a girls collection. For me, an overpriced jewelry collection, a ridiculous number of shoes and accessories are a must.

Lately I’ve been wanting some essential items to add to my wardrobe.

1. Two set of matching solitaire diamond studs

I wear jewelry on a daily basis. I have my wedding ring, then a right hand sapphire ring. I also wear a small star diamond necklace that my husband got for me for our first Christmas together, and of course two sets of studs, however my studs are just sterling silver and it makes me sad. I have a few pairs of diamond earrings but they are too fancy for everyday wear, hence I’ve been drooling over some diamond, round cut studs like the pair above. I’d love to be able to get a set of 1/2C (1CTW) ones and another about 1/4C(.5CTW) to wear together since I have double piercings on my ears. I’m thinking these might be a Christmas present .

2. A new set from Swarovski

            

This is the Hot Montana Set from Swarovski’s collection. The necklace is $340.00 the earrings are $150.00. No big deal!! My parents bought me my first set of Swarovski jewelry for my 16th birthday and ever since I’ve been spoiled. While I love chip jewelry for a night on the town, I prefer diamonds and Swarovski crystals for anything else. I saw this set right before my birthday at the Swarovski store at Park Meadows and started drooling over it, hopefully the Mister will see fit to get this for me, or I just might splurge if I ever graduate.  

3. Scarves!!!

I am loving all the pretty and light scarves lately. They just dress an outfit right up, and it is beautiful. I think instead of investing in some ready made ones I might try my hand at making them. I’ve seen a few very pretty fabrics at JoAnns!! If they turn out well I might even do a giveaway for one.

For this Wednesday that’s all I really want! Some expensive jewelry and inexpensive scarves. I say they balance each other out pretty well!!
