Smile and the Whole World Smiles with You

Fact: Happiness is a choice. Smiling makes you and others feel better and costs NOTHING.

Lately, I’ve been feeling and acting like this guy:

No joke. I really was annoyed at the world, and even when things were going my way I kept being a negative Nancy. There wasn’t really a reason to my grumpiness, and I realized today that being a grump simply adds unnecessary weight to our shoulders. SO… my goal is to be happy this week and on…

Want to know how I am going to be happy?! Well… of course you do.

I’m going to make a list of things that I am grateful for, which in turn will make me smile. And science has proven that smiling makes us and those around us happy.

Today, I’m grateful for having an amazing husband who does absolutely everything for me. Supports me, takes care of me and loves me unconditionally. Yes, even when I look like this:

I have no clue what was going on here, but I think this picture is hilarious, and I have no clue how I hadn’t found it before.I look a little challenged but that’s all right with me.

I am grateful for my family, who also loves me when I look like the above picture, and puts up with my grumpy moments.

Grateful for the opportunity to work with a great company and great people, doing something I am good at and in a field that I love. Finding a job is always a challenge, yet I was blessed with an incredible opportunity, and could not be thankful enough.

I am so grateful for having a roof over my head, clothes on my back and food on the table. I know there are many out there who do not have basic necessities yet they complain less then I do.

So thankful and grateful for my and my loved ones’ health. The ability to be together, and enjoy each others’ company.

I am also so grateful for this blog, and all of YOU! Yes, YOU!!! I started blogging simply because I wanted to keep a journal of my life, and I have met so many amazing people in my six short months on the blogosphere. I cannot imagine what the next six will bring.

Here is my challenge to you: Smile today. When you are feeling frustrated, take a deep breath and just smile. When you are feeling sad and down, simply close your eyes and smile. When you feel like know one cares or loves you, know that I care more then you know and love you just as much, and smile.

Remember what Abraham Lincoln once said: most folks are about as happy as they make their minds to be. So yes, happiness is a choice. You can choose to be as happy or as miserable as you like. I choose happiness and you should too.

  1. Wonderful post! I've been feeling the same way, as you know. Over the last week I've just been like, it could be worse. I should be happy for what I have right now. There really is so much in life to be grateful for.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
