Sky Diving... Rocky Mountain Climbing

I had lunch with my grandpa today! He had some excellent news to tell me! He passed the breathing exam, and the doctors are going to operate! For those of you who don't know, Bob (my adoptive grandfather) was diagnosed with lung cancer about a month and a half ago.It was really hard for me to deal with it, because I don't know what I'd do without him. However, the doctor is confident that Bob will be able to live his life with only 1.5 lungs! They'll have to chop off about half of his left lung to get rid of all the nasty cancer!
Bob's upbeat about it, and excited that he'll get a few more bike seasons in!

As I was driving home, Tim McGraw's Live Like You Were Dying came on the radio.
If you click on the title of the song it will take you to a YouTube video that I wasn't able to enbed into the blog, due to it being disabled. However, it's the song with scenes from The Bucket List, which happens to be one of my all-time favorite movies!

Anyways, my chat with Bob along with hearing the song really made me realize that even though Donald and I go on lots of trips, eat good food, spend time doing our favorite things, we're still not taking the risks and having the experiences that are on our bucket list! Hence, our next adventure will involve dressing in bright colored suits and jumping out of an airplane!!!

Donald has always wanted to do it, and I've always held him back and told him that it was too scary to try, along with a million other reasons. But you know, we only get to live once... and I don't want to be sitting on the sidelines.

So what's on you bucket list?

  1. Hey Zara!

Thanks so so much for your post. I like the idea of the couch to 5k plan. It's funny, because just as I was getting ready to write this post my boyfriend said he was looking at the comments and saw yours and decided that he wanted to do that. I'm definitely going to give it a try, and I'll let you know how it goes. I'm also going to try setting mini-goals for myself. I'll probably update them monthly...someone else suggested that and I liked it. Also, if you go to your dashboard and click edit profile, if you click "show email" you'll get responses to your comments more. I'd love to be able to email you back to your comments! I really appreciate them so so much, and sometimes I feel like I don't always get to write back to you because I notice that you're no-reply! Talk to you soon!!
