Did I ever tell you?

… why I stopped playing tennis and being athletic in high school? Well, for those of you who know me you also know how much I love the game of tennis and how much I loved playing, training and working out. What made me stop is this wussy knee of mine that seems to hate me and my love of abusing it.

I have had all sorts of kneed problems, and once the doc told me that I would have to possibly have surgery and go through physical therapy for my wimpy little knee, I decided I’d stay off of it. Through the years, I’ve had small issues with it, but nothing that some Advil, a bag of ice and a knee brace haven’t been able to fix.

However, yesterday I think I overdid it.Sad smile

I got home from the a two hour gym session and could barely bend my knee to get out of the car. It freaking hurt, and still does. I iced it, I took Advil and let it rest, but it’s still bugging me Sad smile. It hasn’t hurt this bad in a very long time, and it really worries me. I’m not limping yet, but I feel like it might be coming. I’m not willing to give up my workouts but don’t want to end up on a surgeon's table.

I really don’t know what I did to my poor little knee this time, but I’m hoping that it’s just an overuse pain rather then anything serious.

It really is time to find a doctor and go in for a check up with my huge list of questions.

I’ll be back later with an actual update on the 25 Days of Fitness Smile

Q: Have you ever had a knee injury? Or any other injuries due to sports? Has it stopped you from being active?

  1. I tore my meniscus last winter, and it was the worst pain I have ever felt. I have no idea how I did it, but it just gradually got worse until I couldn't bend it anymore. But it healed itself after keeping it straight for 3 or 4 weeks. I'm still really protective of it, but it seems to be fine. Knee injuries are no fun, though! I hope you heal quickly!

  3. That sucks! I'm sorry girl. I've never had a really bad knee injury, but it seems like you're doing a great job taking care of it.
